Tessa Rose Nicknames: Miss Rose, Miss Beautiful, Beauty Queen, Rosie, Silly Goose, Mama’s Bumblebee July 30th, 2003 – February 27th, 2014 We drove twelve hours to Iowa, so very excited to get our first baby. Tessa Rose was just four pounds when we got her, and one sweet ear was still floppy. We fell so in love with her the moment her new Daddy drew his finger across the floor in front of her, getting her to chase after him. We brought her home in a blanket-lined laundry basket, and we knew we would never be the same. Tessa was the joy of our lives, so sweet, so loving, so full of attitude. We have not one bad memory of our dearest girl. She had her “boyfriend,” Norman, whom she loved to play with. She also had several friends in Sadie, Bud and Peeves. She had Grandparents that loved her as their first “grand dog,” an Auntie and Uncles who treasured her, and who will now remember her fondly. Tessa eventually welcomed her “brother,” our first child, taking it upon herself to get him to laugh, crawl, play frisbee and ball with him for hours, and most recently, wake him up in the morning for school. We were utterly heartbroken and devastated when we learned Tessa had TCC last June. She bravely battled her illness, providing love and support as though nothing had changed. She met her “sister” in October, and we were so grateful to have so much extra time to enjoy with them at home. We knew we were on borrowed time, and so we treasured each moment with Tessa and made sure to spoil her extra much. Knowing the end was near didn’t make it easier. We are so grateful that our sweet girl’s last day was spent at home, surrounded by the ones she loved and who adored her in turn. She was so comfortable in her home at the end, held in the arms of the Mommy and Daddy who could not tell her enough how much we loved her and cherished her. We take comfort in the knowledge that we will see her again, if not as soon as we’d like. Tessa Rose, you are dearly loved and sorely missed. God reclaimed the sweet Scottish angel he had blessed us with, and while we are left with such heavy hearts, we are filled with wonderful memories. No one could have loved Tessa more. Rest in peace, beloved Scotch. We Love You With All Our Hearts, Mama, Daddy, Aiden and Isla
